Cat in a Box

i am a cat in a box
neither dead nor alive
the type that people play with
for a few days and return to the
same exact place same exact box

same exact reasons to abandon

i have lost all expectations
i do not even call out anymore
i just sit there knowing that the cycle
will keep repeating itself
theres no point in resisting anymore

its all normal to me now

the people who live there
don't really care about me
and every day or two some smart ass
with the label of a rescuer will come by
to take me in and make a video out of it

money matters, no one checks if they still have me

and ill be back there again
at the same place
in the same box
not even waiting to be picked up
oh, here comes another one
